Fraxel re:pair® – laser resurfacing

How does the Fraxel re:pair® laser work?
Fraxel re:pair® is a new and highly effective laser resurfacing treatment to correct aged and damaged skin – without the prolonged downtime or adverse reactions of other resurfacing procedures. This FDA approved treatment has many benefits – targeting fine lines, sun damage and pigmentation and is one of the most effective treatments for acne scarring.
With Fraxel re:pair® treatment, you not only get dramatic results without the risks and complications of going under the knife, you can also prevent the need to ever consider a facelift. That’s because Fraxel re:pair® treatment tightens the skin, actually defending against the loose, saggy skin that typically comes with age. So you can remove years from your appearance – and keep them off. Fraxel re:pair® treatment uses points of light to precisely treat thousands of microscopic areas of your skin. The treatment penetrates deep into the skin to remove old, damaged skin cells, stimulates your body’s own natural healing process, and replaces the cells with fresh, glowing, healthy skin. Because the technology is so precise, Fraxel re:pair® treatment works not only on the face, but also on delicate skin areas like the neck, chest and hands.
Recommended for: sun spots and age spots on the face, hands and décolleté, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, irregular texture. It’s a treatment that is effective for all skin types although care is required for those who like tanning often.
Results: Soon after treatment, the surface of the skin will feel softer, look brighter and show a more even tone. Over three to six months, you’ll see even more results as the deeper layers of skin continue to heal and collagen production is increased. Wrinkles and lines will be visibly reduced as well as acne scars and pigmentation marks. The skin will look tighter, smoother and much younger in appearance.
How Often: Clinical studies have shown that one treatment produces maximum results for most people. The laser is specifically designed to enable your doctor to tailor the treatment to your particular needs. Severe sun damage can be treated more aggressively, which can results in up to a week of downtime. For mild sun and skin damage a gentler treatment will be used with less downtime.
Recovery Time: Immediately following treatment you will have some degree of redness and swelling. Other temporary side effects include a bronzed appearance to the skin that can last from three to fourteen days, dry skin, peeling, flaking and minor itching. We will give you specific instructions on how to deal with and minimize these affects and will provide follow-up care after your treatment.
