What is it?

Dermal fillers are used to enhance the lips and create a fuller but natural looking lip line. As we age the lips become thinner and smaller, developing those fine vertical lines around the edges that are a real giveaway sign of ageing. Full, plump lips are very youthful looking whereas thin lips can be very ageing and give the face a rather miserable look. We use either Restylane Lipp® or Teosyal Kiss®, both hyaluronic acid fillers that are specifically designed to restore natural fullness and create beautifully shaped lips.

In order to achieve a natural looking result we prefer to inject only a small amount of filler initially and then top-up if required after any swelling has diminished. We have all seen the results when too much filler has been used to plump the lips, our aim is to produce a beautiful, subtle enhancement.

Results: Natural looking, subtle results – extra volume is added to the main body of the lip, the vermillion border of the lips is more defined and fine lines are diminished. Lips appear naturally youthful and plump giving a flattering and more attractive look without the risk of ‘trout pout’.

How Often: The effects last between six – twelve months and then a top-up treatment will be necessary.

Recovery Time: Immediately following treatment there may be some swelling and tenderness. The swelling can last for up to a week and then final results will be visible.
