Surgical Blepharoplasty – eye lift
What is it?
Eyelid reduction (“blepharoplasty”) is a delicate operation to remove the excess loose skin and fat that can gather around the eyes, resulting in an unpleasant bulging appearance. The operation can be performed for the upper and lower eyelids.
Standard Blepharoplasty
During the operation your surgeon will make cuts around the natural lines of your eyelid and remove the excess damaged skin and sculpt the fat pad of the eyelid. Upper eyelid surgery is usually performed under local anaesthesia. However, most lower eyelid blepharoplasties and combined upper and lower lid blepharoplasty are performed under general anaesthesia.
Extended Blepharoplasty
During standard eyelid operations, other necessary adjustments might be made such as: internal lifting of the eyebrow, upper part of the cheek and lifting of the corners of the eyelid with or without tightening them. Naturally this operation is more extensive and time consuming producing a superior cosmetic result.
Recommended For: Removing excess skin and fat around the eyes. Lifting the brow, upper cheeks and the corners of the eyelid.
Results: The procedure can improve the visual field and open the eyes up. Creates a more radiant and youthful appearance.
How Often? This is a one-off procedure.
Recovery Time: One to two weeks depending on how you heal.
