Seeking Advice for Rhinoplasty: Indications and Recommendations?

I've got a nose with a little bump, wouldn't say it's massive, but of course, I'd prefer it to be neat and straight. However, I just can't bring myself to decide on rhinoplasty. So, I'm looking for reasons, or rather, what could be the indications for this type of plastic surgery? So that the doctor would specifically recommend this operation. Anyone in the know, I'm waiting for advice 😆.

Struggling with Self-Image due to Unflattering ID Photo

I have a nose with a hump, and it's also like a potato, with wide nostrils. I've been working on accepting my appearance, any of my flaws, for a long time. I like myself in the mirror, I like myself in photos that friends take, I like myself in selfies. So, you would think, what complexes? But I have this unfortunate ID photo that I hate with all my heart and can't forget. I look simply disgusting there: a huge nose, small eyes, thin eyebrows and lips. I can't even look at myself, I feel nauseous. This is the main reason for my complexes and tears into the pillow at night. I really want to look at myself from the side, evaluate my appearance and understand: do I still like myself or not, should I get a rhinoplasty? But for some reason, I think that the people around me see me as I turned out in the ID photo. This thought makes me shudder. I start to completely close myself off. I start to think that people communicate with me out of pity and struggle to look at my terrible appearance. I think that everyone around sees me as a scary orc, they don't want to contact me because of this. Please tell me, have you encountered a similar problem? How did you manage to solve it?

Will Surgeon Perform Rhinoplasty at Age 20?

Since I was 12, I've dreamt of getting a rhinoplasty because I think my nose is too wide, plus I have a droopy tip and a deviated septum. I found a good plastic surgeon in my town and went for a consultation when I was 17. He told me then that they don't do such operations until you're 21 and that I should come back after I've celebrated my twentieth birthday... And so, in June this year, I turned 20. I'm planning to go for another consultation with the same doctor. Can anyone with experience in this matter tell me, will the surgeon agree to do a rhinoplasty when I'm 20 or will he tell me to wait until next year? Has anyone had the operation at this age?

Teenager Seeking Advice to Convince Parents for Rhinoplasty

I'm not happy with the shape of my nose (I'm 17) and I'd really like to get a rhinoplasty. I understand that from the outside this might seem like a whim - but the NOSE... it's perhaps my only complex... Give me some advice... how to persuade my parents? Make them believe that this is REALLY important to me...

23-Year-Old Considers Nose Job, Seeks Advice and Experiences

I'm a 23-year-old girl. I have big eyes, a wide nose and thin lips with a small mouth. I'm planning to save up for a nose job. I can't have my lips done because I'm allergic to lidocaine, which they add to hyaluronic acid. So, the question is, should I reduce my nose? Does anyone have any experience? I get really self-conscious when I smile, my nose takes up half my face 😟.

Post-Rhinoplasty Nose Tip Direction and Uneven Nostrils Concerns

Good night, kiddos. Could you please tell me, is it normal that after my rhinoplasty, the tip of my nose is pointing in a different direction and my nostrils have become uneven..? I had a bump on my nose, the surgeon removed the bump and lifted the tip slightly, I'm very pleased with the result in profile, but face-on I can see that something's not right. I wrote to my surgeon, he says it's probably due to swelling, that there's just more swelling on one side, but I don't know.. It's been almost a month since the operation, I don't know what to do with myself, I'm very worried, I just hope I won't have to have a repeat plastic surgery.

Seeking Advice for Convincing Mum about Rhinoplasty

Hello everyone. I have a rather strange and dumb problem, to put it bluntly. I've long wanted to get a rhino and waited until I was of age, but now, when the time has come, my mum is adamantly against me going under the knife for no reason, with my complexes, as she puts it. I realised that convincing her with the argument "I'm fed up with my huge and wide nose that takes up 24/7 of my face's space" is absolutely impossible. Are there any less severe medical indications, like asymmetry? Or your own experience, because not all parents approve of this, even if you're well past 18...

Considering Rhinoplasty: Fears, Expectations and Personal Experiences

I'm 30, have two children, and a loving husband. Everything is wonderful, but I've always been a long-nosed duckling and I've remained so. My husband affectionately calls me long-nose, says he loves me just the way I am. But I myself feel that this isn't me, every morning looking in the mirror and seeing an obvious flaw HAS BECOME TIRESOME. I want to be beautiful, everything else about me is perfect, both body and soul. I would have a rhinoplasty, the only thing I'm afraid of is that they might make it worse, as there are unsuccessful surgeries. They will have to cut off the excess part and construct a new one. Also, my nose is a bit too wide, how will they trim the wings? What if my nose becomes asymmetrical. That's what I'm afraid of. Has any of you had surgery? Or is anyone else plagued by the same problems.. I'll be eagerly waiting for your messages.
