With over half a million procedures undertaken, you're in safe hands
PRP is a bio-intelligent resource, found in the blood, that has rapidly swept the beauty circuit for its undeniably anti-ageing benefits.
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma: a component which can be extracted from a patient's blood sample and used for topical cell regeneration. PRP facial rejuvenation makes use of these naturally-occurring healing properties to bring back youth and radiance to the face.
When combined with the an ingenious technology System, PRP becomes up to 18x more potent, meaning PRP-assisted rejuvenation has subsequently become many people's go-to procedure for quick, dramatic and lasting youth-boosting.
The remarkable difference a Harley Street Skin Clinic treatment can provide
This form of facial rejuvenation has an incredible ability to brighten the face, making it look more plump, hydrated and healthy as well as free from fine lines and wrinkles. People flock for PRP treatments because they combine the best of both worlds, being something of a comprehensive facial and an instant facelift in one. But don't just take our word for it, take a look at what it has done for some of our patients in the past...
PRP facial rejuvenation is a replenishing, nutrient-rich treatment, designed to make use of the body's own natural resources and incredible capacity for healing. Using no artificial materials whatsoever, facial treatments making use of PRP are fantastic for both subdermal tissue repair, and surface concerns such as crow's feet, dark circles, sun damage, scarring and obtrusive pores - even areas of severe collagen depletion.
PRP is so effective as it is a method of cell regeneration, rebuilding the structures beneath the skin that have wained with age. Treatment drastically boosts collagen production and the formation of new blood vessels, and may even be combined with fat transfer for a dose of additional youthful volume. As a result, it does wonders for wrinkles and leaves skin far smoother, plumper and improved in texture and tone.
As well as being less expensive and time-consuming than full courses of cosmetic skin tightening, stem cell-aided facial rejuvenation is the perfect solution to visible ageing and scarring for those against anything too invasive or recovery-heavy. PRP rejuvenation demands practically no recovery time at all, and offers natural results that will keep on giving for months and months after treatment.

The answer to some of the most common questions you may have
It's only natural to have questions if you are considering pursuing a treatment for the first time, and at Harley Street Skin, it's important to us that you feel confident and comfortable at every stage of your journey. To help you find the answers you need, here are a few of the more common quibbles that we find our clients frequently ask...
As visible ageing and many other skin complaints are a result of poor cell function beneath the surface, PRP Rejuvenation works by improving the health of the cells so they are better able to perform.
Treatment involves taking a special component from the blood (the 'PRP') and reinjecting it where the cells are in need of a helping hand.
Platelets in the blood contain hundreds of proteins called 'growth factors' which are crucial for healing damaged or diminishing soft tissue; it is the platelets that are at work during the clotting process as our skin attempts to restore itself. PRP is plasma that is 5-10 times more concentrated in platelets, so by isolating this miracle element from the blood, we are able to target and dose particular areas in need of rejuvenation.
Blood is first drawn from the arm, and then placed into a centrifuge which rapidly spins the blood sample, prompting it to separate into 3 components (The plasma, the PRP and the cellular layer which contains both red and white blood cells.) The concentrated PRP layer is then harvested and reinjected into the face in the same way you might administer Botox or Dermal Filler.
During processing, the centrifuge has the ability to further enhance platelet concentration. In fact, platelets processed are up to 18x more concentrated and therefore far more powerful on a biological level. This is what gives this unique type of facial rejuvenation such transformative results.
PRP has been used in the medical arena for years, most commonly to treat complaints such as arthritis, carpal tunnel, sciatica; tendon or ligament injury; and more recently hair loss. Because of the healing properties found in the platelet, it can also be a natural, miracle remedy for a whole host of pesky skin complaints.
Using hyper-concentrated PRP for facial rejuvenation can quickly help reconcile things such as acne, dryness, scarring, open pores, dark circles, laxity and overall skin quality. As treatment stimulates the existing tissue beneath the surface, you will notice an immediate and lasting burst of radiance which will also continue to encourage your skin to regenerate collagen. This influx of collagen visibly improves the skin's firmness, elasticity and brightness in as little as 24 hours.
This will entirely depend on your treatment plan, as treatment can be geared at many different finishes. For example, some are in pursuit of volume which may involve combining PRP with grafted fat, whereas others may simply be looking for a radiance boost.
For best results, older patients are generally advised to undergo a course of 3 treatments spaced around 6 weeks apart, whereas younger patients - due to the skin's natural resilience - may only require one.
Administering the PRP itself is both straightforward and speedy, often not taking much more than an hour. However, if you have chosen to numb the areas that are being treated beforehand, we would recommend that you set aside an additional half an hour or so for the anaesthesia to kick in.
The process used to obtain the PRP layer will take roughly an hour, during which time anaesthetic can be applied and begin taking effect.
PRP is administered using microfine needles, therefore irritation to the face is minimal. You may find your face to be a little puffy and itchy for a few days after treatment, but this should all settle within 24-48 hours. There is also some potential for mild bruising to appear around the injection sites and the eyes, but this will depend entirely on your skin's sensitivity, and many patients do recover without even the slightest trace of bruising. This often depends on your choice of injection sites, as areas around the eyes are particularly rich with blood vessels and near impossible to avoid during this type of treatment.
The risk of encountering allergic reaction during a PRP treatment is also nil as PRP is taken from your own blood supply. This means that the body finds it very easy to both accommodate and reabsorb.
PRP Rejuvenation is loved worldwide for being the only non-surgical treatment to achieve the look of a facelift, with none of the downtime - recovery being almost instant. PRP absorption is complete after 24 hours, and it is just that - along with its incredible results - which make PRP treatments so inherently popular.
Patients are typically able to return to work almost immediately following PRP treatment, as platelet absorption takes as little as 24 hours. You may feel a little tender and swollen for a few days, but most patients return to normal duties the following day with no complications.
