Vaser is an astonishingly effective method of fat reduction using ultrasound. It involves using localised ultrasound energy to treat fatty tissue, turning them to liquid form and therefore making them much easier to remove. So easy, in fact, they can be removed from an incision no bigger than a pinprick.

To help you find the answers you need, here are a few of the more common quibbles that we find our clients frequently ask...
'Vaser' stands for 'Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance'. It is a version of liposuction which loosens fatty tissue using ultrasound, making the extraction of fat far less stressful for the body.
Firstly, a small probe is used to administer ultrasound pulses to the treatment area. These pulses cause vibration which gently break apart the fat cells on contact, and when combined with an injectable fluid (known as 'tumescent fluid.') turn the treated cells to a liquid emulsion. This emulsion can then be removed using a small cannula, causing minimum damage to the surrounding tissue.
In comparison to conventional liposuction, this approach ensures there is much less bruising, discomfort and subsequent scarring.
Vaser treatment will not only remove bulk from those areas which we feel look disproportionate - perhaps chunky thighs, love handles or a build up of fat around the neck - it can add definition to muscles, sculpt the silhouette, prevent unsightly bulging, firm the skin and even result in generalised weight loss.
Due to the way in which the fat is extracted, Vaser also works wonders on cellulite. As cellulite occurs when the layer of fat beneath the skin begins to push against connective tissue, ultrasound pulses work to break down these lumpy fat deposits to an even consistency for extraction. This leaves the area far smoother beneath, and practitioners can easily sculpt around the muscles for better contouring.
Vaser treatment offers permanent removal of excess fat tissue. Provided that you maintain a healthy lifestyle afterwards, you will be able to maintain fantastic results indefinitely.
The treatment itself should take no longer than 1-2 hours. This will, of course, depend on how many areas are being treated and/or the size of these areas.
Many patients report visible results straight away, even with some swelling, and will continue to markedly improve as all of the inflammation subsides, you should see your permanent Vaser results at around week 5 or 6.
Vaser is a precise and innovative approach to fat reduction, and therefore it is extremely low-risk. There is very little to worry about.
Patients will experience some swelling, bruising and potentially some lingering numbness following Vaser, however, this is practically nothing when compared today the fallout from conventional Liposuction. All Vaser side effects should all clear up within 6 weeks or so.
It is also perfectly normal for there to be slight residue or 'leakage' from extraction sites following Vaser - a pink or orange-tinted discharge. While this may look alarming, we can assure you, it's actually a perfectly healthy response to treatment, and even aids your recovery. This will cease within the first 1-3 days.
Vaser is performed as outpatient surgery under local anaesthetic - that means you're free to walk right on out of the clinic that very same day.
It is great as there is no need to set aside lengthy downtime or use up precious annual leave - you won't even require stitches (just a simple compression garment which you will be instructed to wear for the first portion of your recovery).
It will take up to 5-6 weeks for you to be entirely 'recovered' (i.e. free from any swelling whatsoever) but in terms of returning to normality, patients tend to feel fighting fit in as little as 2-3 days.
You should be fit and able to return to work between 2-5 days of treatment. This may be extended to 7 if the patient is having multiple areas treated simultaneously, but your doctor to will be happy to talk you through bespoke recovery times at your free of charge consultation.
