What do you need to know before the treatment?

Disclose if you have sensitive skin and other skin conditions to your practitioner.
No sun or tanning beds two weeks prior to treatment.
Wash your skin to remove any make-up, lotions or oils.
Tell your provider about any medicines or supplements you are taking..
Take off any jewellery, contact lenses, and metal objects.
No waxing, or tweezers and avoid using hair removal creams for seven days prior to your session.

What is the optimal post-treatment care plan?

Avoid direct hot shower spray on the treated area.
Do not use hot tubs, steam baths, saunas, or swim.
Do not do any sweaty activities.
Avoid using a loofah or exfoliation tools on the area that’s been treated.
Do not expose the treated area to ice or iced water.
Stay away from tanning beds.
Do not use any hair removal treatments including waxing for the 7 days post treatment.
Limit sun exposure.
It is normal to have redness in the area treated which may last from 1 to 12 hours.
Botox or cosmetic fillers should not be used for at least 5 days after treatment.

What are the maintenance treatments after the initial celluma therapy?

Follow-up sessions a few weeks or months to maintain the benefits.
Regular skin care routine and moisturising, with a proper sunblock to maintain the results.

Can risks be prevented?

Usually, the procedure results in minimal effects which include some temporary redness of face.

The major contraindications are as follows:

Pregnancy: should generally be avoided during this time due to the risks.
Photosensitizing Drugs: Common Inclusions are Lithium, Melatonin, Phenothiazine antipsychotics (derivatives such as Chlorpromazine), Amiodarone, Digoxin and certain antibiotics especially Doxycycline.
Retinal Health: Retina or retinopathy causing diseases e.g. diabetes.
Skin Cancer History: Not for individuals with a history of skin cancer.
Epilepsy and Seizures: You should steer clear if you have ever had epilepsy, or seizures.
A cute or Cutaneous Porphyria: Unsuitable for people having this condition of porphyria.
