PRP Facials In London

With over half a million procedures undertaken, you're in safe hands

PRP facials are skincare treatments that have rapidly swept the beauty circuit, becoming many people's go-to procedure for a quick and lasting beauty pick-me-up.

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma: a natural resource which can be extracted from the blood and used for topical cell regeneration. PRP facials make use of these naturally occurring healing properties to bring back youth and radiance to the face.

Lesley Says

“These facials are very popular with our celebrity clientele. Probably because treatment itself only takes an hour or so, but the rejuvenation continues for up to 3 months.”

Dr Khan Says

“PRP facials are a great alternative to Dermal Filler. They achieve similar results - firmer, plumper skin with less visible lines - but use only all-natural resources.”

PRP Facials Before & Afters

The remarkable difference a Harley Street Skin Clinic treatment can provide

PRP Facials have an incredible ability to brighten the face, making it look more plump, hydrated and healthy as well as free from fine lines and wrinkles. People flock for PRP treatments because they combine the best of both worlds, being something of a comprehensive facial and an instant facelift in one. But don't just take our word for it, take a look at what it has done for some of our patients in the past...

PRP facials are replenishing, nutrient-rich treatments, designed to make use of the body's own natural resources and incredible capacity for healing. Using absolutely no artificial materials whatsoever, PRP facials are fantastic for both subdermal tissue repair, and surface concerns such as crow's feet, dark circles, sun damage, acne scarring and obtrusive pores.

Different from traditional fillers which aim to plump, PRP facials target cell regeneration and endeavour to visibly improve skin texture and luminosity by stimulating stem cells, collagen production and the formation of new blood vessels. This means that not only do wrinkles visibly soften but the skin becomes smoother, tighter and more youthful in texture and tone.

As well as being far less expensive than other kinds of cosmetic skin tightening, PRP facials are the perfect solution to visible ageing for those against anything too invasive or recovery-heavy. PRP facials demand practically no recovery time at all, and offer astonishingly natural results that will keep on giving for months and months after treatment.

PRP Facial FAQs

The answer to some of the most common questions you may have

It's only natural to have questions if you are considering pursuing a treatment for the first time, and at Harley Street Skin, it's important to us that you feel confident and comfortable at every stage of your journey. To help you find the answers you need, here are a few of the more common quibbles that we find our clients frequently ask...

Platelets in the blood contain hundreds of proteins called 'growth factors' which are crucial for healing damaged or diminishing soft tissue. It is the platelets that are at work during the clotting process as our skin attempts to restore itself. PRP is plasma that is 5-10 times more concentrated in platelets, so by isolating this miracle element from the blood, we are able to target and dose particular areas in need of rejuvenation.

Blood is first drawn from the arm, and then placed into a centrifuge which rapidly spins the blood sample, prompting it to separate into 3 components (The plasma, the PRP and the cellular layer which contains both red and white blood cells.) The concentrated PRP layer is then harvested and reinjected into the face in the same way you might administer botox or dermal filler.

PRP has been used in the medical arena for years, most commonly to treat complaints such as arthritis, carpal tunnel, sciatica; tendon or ligament injury; and more recently hair loss. Because of the healing properties found in the platelet, it can also be a natural, miracle remedy for a whole host of pesky skin complaints.

PRP facials can help reconcile things such as acne, dryness, scarring, open pores, dark circles, tightness and overall skin quality. As PRP Facials stimulate the existing tissue beneath the surface, you will notice an immediate and lasting burst of radiance which will also continue to encourage your skin to regenerate collagen. This influx of collagen visibly improves the skin's firmness, elasticity and brightness in as little as 24 hours.

For 3 months following treatment, your PRP facial will continue working to boost and generate collagen in the face. After 3 months, the window for maximum collagen regeneration has been reached, however many continue to notice the benefits of the PRP facial for as long as 2 years.

For best results, older patients are generally advised to undergo a course of 3 PRP treatments spaced 6 weeks apart, whereas younger patients - due to the skin's natural resilience - may only require one.

Administering the PRP itself is both straightforward and speedy, often not taking much more than an hour. However, if you have chosen to numb the areas that are being treated beforehand, we would recommend that you set aside an additional half an hour or so for EMLA applicationthe anaesthesia to kick in. The process of spinning your blood sample to obtain the PRP layer that has risen to the top will take roughly an hour, during which time anaesthetic can be applied and begin taking effect.

All in all, we would advocate setting aside 2 hours for the entirety of your PRP facial.

PRP is administered using microfine needles, therefore irritation to the face is minimal. You may find your face to be a little puffy and itchy for a few days after treatment, but this will all settle within 24-48 hours. There is also some potential for mild bruising to appear around the injection sites and the eyes, but this will depend entirely on your skin's sensitivity, and many patients recover without even the slightest trace of bruising. This often depends on your choice of injection sites, as areas around the eyes are particularly rich with blood vessels and near impossible to avoid during this type of treatment.

The risk of encountering allergic reaction during a PRP facial is also nil as PRP is taken from your own blood supply. This means that the body finds it very easy to both accommodate and reabsorb.

PRP Facials are loved worldwide for being the only non-surgical treatment to achieve the look of a facelift, with none of the downtime - recovery being almost instant. PRP absorption is complete after 24 hours, and it is just that - along with its incredible results - which make PRP treatments so inherently popular.

Patients are able to return to work almost immediately following PRP treatment, as platelet absorption takes as little as 24 hours. You may feel a little tender and swollen for a few hours, but most patients return to normal duties the following day with no complications.
