DO YOU REMEMBER THE VERY MOMENT YOU DECIDED TO GO AHEAD WITH TREATMENT?

As my career got a little bit more intense – especially the last commitment which was a year and a half – nearly every day I was in front of the mirror or having a makeup artist doing my face on set. I started noticing that I was getting a little bit of redness, I was getting irritation – the products were not right.

I also understood that as a professional commitment towards my body, which is the way I deliver my work, I needed to start being more aware of these sorts of treatments, and I should educate myself about which products could make my skin even better.
WHAT WERE YOUR PROBLEM AREAS?

Primarily, I wanted to look after my skin. The way we clean our faces at home is fine – as a routine – but once every couple of months, we maybe need to see a professional for something more thorough. Plus, with my work, there are a lot of social events, late nights – those kinds of things.
WHAT WAS IT ABOUT THE HARLEY STREET SKIN CLINIC THAT TOOK YOUR FANCY?

It happened by chance through a friend in common that I met the lovely Dr Khan and Lesley. I came here because I knew they were very well respected and because we started as a friendship so I thought ‘okay, I’m happy to go and see how it is’.

Of course, I was super happy to give it a try.
CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE PROCEDURE DAY?

I’ll have a nice coffee in the living room – this is a ritual I have every time I show up here. I love the kind of old-fashioned atmosphere that there is in the living room, and I particularly enjoy the porcelain cups – Lesley’s tea cups – I love them. But I’m Italian so instead of tea, I’m pouring coffee. [laughs]

Then, as soon as I come upstairs, and one of the girls gives me a treatment, I have to say: I fall asleep at least 100 times in an hour because it is so relaxing.

It’s a sort of private moment you take away from the world and you dedicate to yourself. I always feel very pampered and very well looked-after when I come here.
HAVE THERE BEEN ANY PERKS THAT YOU WEREN'T EXPECTING?

Every time I come out of here [HSSC], I always see that my skin has brightened up – it’s more luminous, almost as if there is a different light.

I walk a lot, too, so with the city pollution it’s like they take a grey veil from your skin each time you have a treatment. It helps bring the brightness and light of your natural skin up again.

…And also, the massage they give to your face! It’s great for an actor! You feel like you’ve been to the gym for your face! [laughs]
WOULD YOU CONSIDER POPPING BACK TO THE CLINIC IN FUTURE?

Of course.

I’ve seen the results myself. I actually come here quite frequently!

I would never do anything unnatural to my skin, as an actor, but i’m very I’m happy to try some products and things. I trust Dr Khan and Lesley, and they have become wonderful friends.
