Dermatologist Prescribes Yasmin for Persistent Acne, Success Uncertain

I've been suffering for 3 years now, spots on my back, face, shoulders. I've ordered expensive ointments, but nothing helps. The dermatologist prescribed me to take Yasmin for a year, I agreed, bought the pills, went online and read frightening reviews about how Yasmin ruins health. The doctor told me not to worry, these are new generation pills and they contain a minimal amount of hormones. Well, in general, I decided to take them, but now the question is, will they help me get rid of acne?

It personally helped me, my skin cleared up. When I was taking it, my skin was absolutely perfect. After stopping it got a bit worse, but compared to what it was "before", it's still much better, now I only have a few spots occasionally. I also read horror stories, but nothing terrible happened in 2 years of taking it. But! They selected the medication for me based on my tests, I had high androgen hormones, and I had a full blood test with an expanded leukoformula every six months (as it can thicken the blood, control is needed), once a year I have a pelvic ultrasound and a mammogram.

Well no, I'm not risking trying that. Especially hormonal ones, I'm quite wary of. I treat my spots with Retin-A cream. Its course of application is quite lengthy, around 3 months. I completed one course last year. And a repeat one this winter. Now my face is clear, I'm pleased that I persevered. Perhaps sometimes you just need to wait for the result, rather than giving up halfway through the course.
