Why do you need skin cyst removal?
A cyst is a type of small, fluid-filled lump felt under the skin. They’re often round, yellow or white in colour and have a dark centre where the pus collects. A cyst is a small fluid-filled sac under the skin. If it’s just drained and not completely removed, chances are high it will regrow. This can only be stopped with the surgical excision of the complete sac usually done with local anaesthetic safely. Squeezing a cyst is not going to fix the problem, what you need to do is remove the whole sac in order for it not to come back. Even if you drain it, it may recur. It takes a certified dermatologist to do this with minimal damage, plus it ensures the cyst does not grow back again.
There may be some tenderness or discomfort once the local anaesthesia begins to wear off. This is totally natural and in most cases the daily pain can be treated with over-the-counter medications again; exactly as your doc suggests.
