Struggling with Severe Acne and Skin Care

Hello everyone. I'm 20 years old. I've had severe acne since I was 14. There was no clear spot on my face and the pimples were simply huge, often subcutaneous. At 19, I started taking the contraceptive pill due to polycystic ovaries, Yasmin, and my face improved significantly, but I still have small colourless pimples almost all over my face, pores the size of a crater, but that's genetic, my mum and grandma have the same. Even on my forehead!! But, acne has left its mark. My skin at 20 looks like I'm 60!! The elasticity of my skin has disappeared. My face is full of pits and scars. The T-zone is always red, especially the wings of my nose, I don't know why. At the same time, my skin is oily but peels a lot. I've tried both luxury foams and creams and cheap ones. Zero effect. I've moisturised, nourished, and scrubbed. Due to the lack of elasticity, I have deep wrinkles on my forehead and in the nasolabial folds. And also heavy dark circles under my eyes, but that's from my mum. She has the same and in my childhood photos, I always look like a panda. What should I do?? I spend at least 2-4 hours a day on my skin. Massages, creams, scrubs, peels, and all sorts of infusions. I don't have money for a cosmetologist now. And I can't even apply foundation to my skin. I have 9 different ones and they all clog my pores and it looks terrible, they roll off due to the oiliness and gather in the folds, it's just a nightmare, although I do apply a pore primer under the foundation or BB cream, Holika. Help!!

If your acne has cleared up, then use tretinoin, the effect is long-term. Plus glycolic peel and proper hydration. If not, it's better to start with a course of isotretinoin.

Your problems won't be solved by cosmetic products. If you have such severe acne (grade 3, I think it's called), they prescribe isotretinoin - definitely under a doctor's supervision. Post-acne should be treated by a cosmetologist. Throw out all mass-market products, choose neutral pharmacy products. I had grade 1 and it only got better after I switched to washing with Castile liquid soap.

Have you ever tried giving up cosmetics for a while? In my opinion, your skin is worn out from such meticulous care, after all, it's still chemicals. Perhaps just wash your face in the morning and evening with boiled water and make masks for your skin type. Oatmeal, aloe, cucumber, honey masks hydrate well, clay removes oily shine. It's better not to use foundation in the summer, they all clog the pores.

Adding to my post, opt for tonics and face washes not from well-known brands, but the most ordinary ones, it's better to buy in pharmacies. And start eating right, more lactobacilli, dairy, fruits, vegetables, and nothing harmful.

OP, try washing your face with tar soap, applying the foam to your face for 1 min, 2-3 times a week. Regular aspirin tablets also work really well, dissolve a couple in 3 drops of water, carefully apply to your face for 5 mins, twice a week. Make an aspirin+honey mask (dissolve 2 regular aspirin in 3 drops of water and add a teaspoon of liquid honey, apply the mixture to your face and leave it on for 20 mins). After a couple of months, your skin will improve by 50%, and then it may even completely heal.

Don't listen to anyone, I had the same problem. I was just like you, I did everything I could to cure my skin, spent so much money, but my skin was still not elastic, it was some sort of greyish-yellow colour. My pores would clog at the slightest thing. Turns out I was just torturing my skin with diets and face washes, first trying to get rid of pimples, then when I damaged my skin, trying to restore it. In the end, I ruined my skin. Now I wash my face very rarely, only when I bathe. If I urgently need to wash my face, I use a toner for dry skin. I take vitamins. I had small bumps on my face, like small subcutaneous pimples, this is a defensive reaction of the skin when we torment it. They disappeared without a trace, but the skin is still not elastic, as it will take 6 months for this. Remember, stop washing your face often, only use a moisturising cream for dry skin that does not clog pores, do not wash with anything, just clean water, do not diet, take vitamins. I drank 2 packs of vitamins, in total I suffered with my skin for 4 years. Your skin will not recover quickly, it will take more than 6 months.

I'm 25, and I too have persistent spots on my face.. I'm currently using Hyaluronic Acid with a sebum-regulating complex and a face wash from Mediva for acne. I bought the first product at a cosmetics exhibition, and I purchase the second one from the pharmacy. The effect is very good, the spots are clearing up! Moreover, Hyaluronic Acid with sebum regulators, unlike Mediva, doesn't dry out the skin. When I see that my skin starts to flake, I stop using the face wash and only apply the serum. It sits perfectly under makeup, leaving no traces or film.

I have spots due to issues with my digestive system. I had suspected this myself and the examination confirmed it. But what's the use of this knowledge? As long as you stick to a strict diet, your skin gets better, but the slightest indulgence and immediately spots all over your face.

Well, I'm not sure. I took Maxilac about a year and a half ago for a month, and since then my digestion has been fine and my face has become almost perfectly clean. Only a few post-acne marks remain, but that's a different story, I'll get rid of them with a peel in the autumn.

Very tempting. I must give it a try. Tell me, what dosage and how many times a day did you take maxilac?

The first changes from the digestive tract will begin after a week of taking Maxilac, and the skin will start to improve two weeks in. Just don't stop the treatment, otherwise (my doctor warned me about this) the problems may return.

I had a terrible time with my face too at one point. I didn't wait for it to pass on its own and sought help from a specialist. I was treated with Roaccutane tablets, as it turned out, it wasn't just spots, but full-blown acne. This medication is good. It truly helps. And it can be taken as prescribed by a doctor. They determine the severity of the acne and prescribe the dosage based on that.
