Persistent Acne Despite Treatments: Could Hormones be the Culprit?

Good day, all my life (I'm now 24 years old) I've been troubled by breakouts, especially on my cheeks and chin. After visits to dermatologists, I've used various lotions, ointments, antibiotics like erythromycin and isotretinoin, took antibiotics, underwent UV lamp radiation therapy. The result of all this was zero. Then I started going to a cosmetologist, changed my care to a pharmacy series for problematic skin on her recommendation, completed a course of procedures (once a week): cleanings, peelings, carboxy, microneedling. While I was going, the situation was better, finished the course, a month later it broke out like never before. After this, I changed a bunch of care products, took various vitamins - all useless. Recently learned about systemic retinoids, got fired up with the idea of taking them. Went to a dermatologist with this purpose right away, agreed that first I'll take all the tests. Biochemistry - normal. Helicobacter - negative. Previously tested for demodicosis (subcutaneous mite) - negative. Thyroid ultrasound - normal. Pelvic ultrasound - normal. The only problem was found in hormones: Antibodies to TPO, Thyrotropic hormone, free thyroxine, LH, FSH and testosterone - values in references. But prolactin and 17 OH progesterone exceed. Prolactin 526.70 with a norm of 102-496. 17 OH progesterone 1.54 with a norm of 0.1-0.8. Has anyone had this, what did you do, is this considered a strong deviation, do I need treatment? Is there any point in taking retinoids, or will there be a relapse? My cycle has been stable all my life, there were no delays ever (well, a maximum of 1-4 days, which is normal for me), periods are not painful, I do not complain about anything, hair does not fall out, even on the contrary very good and thick, no excess vegetation on the face is observed. The only thing that bothers me is the endless breakouts.

Advice Needed for Post-Mole Removal Skin Recovery

A week ago, I had a large mole on my face removed by laser. Yesterday, the scab fell off, leaving a small pit and a pink spot. The doctor recommended applying "Curiosin" for another 2 days after the scab falls off. Could you please advise on what to use next for quicker skin recovery?

Struggling with Persistent Acne, Unwanted Hair, and Nail Issues

I just can't seem to deal with acne and, sorry, but also hair in the wrong places... Not to mention the perpetual state of my nails, as if I'm trudging through vegetable patches all day... I've taken all sorts of supplements, sometimes it gets better, then it's back again. I understand that I need to see doctors, but there must be some universal remedies. After all, it's not a major problem, but it's a problem...

Dermatologist Prescribes Yasmin for Persistent Acne, Success Uncertain

I've been suffering for 3 years now, spots on my back, face, shoulders. I've ordered expensive ointments, but nothing helps. The dermatologist prescribed me to take Yasmin for a year, I agreed, bought the pills, went online and read frightening reviews about how Yasmin ruins health. The doctor told me not to worry, these are new generation pills and they contain a minimal amount of hormones. Well, in general, I decided to take them, but now the question is, will they help me get rid of acne?

Daily Face Masks for Oily, Acne-Prone Skin: Feasible?

Hello😊 I've been treating my skin with great care over the past year, wanting to make it as perfect as possible. My skin is oily and problematic. I managed to cure moderate acne (touch wood so as not to jinx it😊), but there are still small pimples, thankfully not too many, and post-acne. So, I wanted to get your opinion (especially those who do this) is it possible to do masks every day? For example, alternate different ones over 6 days, and take a break on the 7th. Maybe not always masks, sometimes just carrot puree or sour cream, it really tightens the skin, but every day?

Struggling with Acne: Dependent on Contraceptive Pills

I've always had skin problems, particularly acne on my cheeks and oily skin all over my face. Three years ago, I was advised to take contraceptive pills (CP). I took half a pack and stopped because I didn't see any results. After that, I started treating my stomach and noticed that my skin condition improved significantly. At that moment, I thought it was due to the stomach treatment, but in reality, my skin improved thanks to the CP. But after a month of good skin, everything got much worse. I continued treating my stomach and didn't understand what was wrong. Cystic pimples appeared on my face, neck, back, and chest, which didn't go away at all. And my skin became oily within a couple of hours. I had blood tests for parasites and hormones, tested for demodicosis, had pelvic ultrasound scans - everything was normal. Only then, after seeing hundreds of doctors and suffering for three months with terrible skin, I remembered that I had taken CP. In the end, I started taking them again - and it helped. I took them for a year and thought everything would be fine from now on, but three months without CP - my skin started to return to its previous state. Now, I've been taking CP for 3 years and I don't know what to do, as I'm dependent on them. I'm afraid that my liver/kidneys are suffering, but going back to a state of depression because of acne and suffering from pimples that don't go away at all - I don't want that either. I'm in a hopeless state, the doctors were helpless then and are unlikely to help me now. Has anyone ever encountered this? Please help with advice.

Seeking Recommendations for Trustworthy Mole Removal Clinics

Hello!!!Girls, can you please advise, I want to remove a small mole on my face(nose). I can't decide on a clinic, I've looked at all possible ones and don't know where to go((((I'm afraid they'll disfigure me, there will be a big scar. Who has had one removed on their face, advise where to go, who had a good experience, without consequences?

Skin health and glow

Community Topics Skin health and glow

Skin health and glow are marks or indentations left on the skin after severe acne heals. They can appear as raised, depressed, or discolored areas, resulting from inflammation and damage to the skin tissue.
