Low Immunity
What is a weak immune system?
Your immune system works to keep you from getting sick. But when it is weak, your body struggles more to fight off harmful germs, viruses, and bacteria. This means that you may catch colds more easily, take longer to get over minor illnesses or simply feel fatigued all the time.
There are lots of things that can weaken the immune system such as lack of sleep, an unhealthy diet, high stress levels or certain types of medical conditions. And even if it doesn’t appear serious at first, it can influence how your body recovers and how you feel day to day.
What are the protective measures your body takes?
- Your skin protects you like a wall, keeping out harmful bacteria and viruses.
- Sticky linings in your nose, mouth trap germs before they travel deeper into your body.
- White blood cells are like your body’s soldiers, they hunt down and defeat germs.
- Special organs, including the spleen, tonsils and bone marrow, help produce and store these germ-hunting cells and move them around where they are needed.
