What inspired you to pursue a career in medicine?
I pursued a career in medicine because I was inspired by the blend of science, precision, and patient care. My interest in facial anatomy naturally led me towards Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and from there, my passion for aesthetic medicine grew. Helping patients feel more confident while applying both surgical skilsl and artistic judgement is what truly motivates me.
Can you share your educational journey?
My educational journey began at King’s College London, where I graduated with a degree in Dentistry in 2014. I then worked within a busy maxillofacial surgery unit in Nottingham, an experience that strengthened my interest in facial anatomy, trauma, and surgical techniques. Wanting to further broaden my medical training, I went on to study Medicine at the University of Bristol, graduating in 2020.
Since then, I have been on the pathway to specialise in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and currently work as a specialty registrar across Kent, Surrey, and Sussex. This dual qualification in medicine and dentistry has given me a unique and comprehensive understanding of facial structure, function, and aesthetics.
My journey in aesthetic medicine began early, completing an advanced course in anti-wrinkle treatments and dermal fillers at the London School of Facial Aesthetics in 2014. I have recently furthered my commitment to the field by enrolling on the Level 7 aesthetics training with Acquisition Aesthetics and a MS degree in Aesthetic Surgery at University College London.
I am passionate about helping patients look and feel their best, and I am dedicated to continually refining my skills through advanced training and clinical practice in both aesthetic medicine and surgery.
What attracted you to this particular field of medicine?
I was drawn to aesthetic medicine because it allows me to combine my passion for science with a deep appreciation for artistry and human connection. I love the precision and creativity involved in enhancing natural features, but what truly inspires me is the positive impact these treatments can have on a person’s confidence and overall well-being. Aesthetic medicine is an innovative, rapidly evolving field, and being able to offer patients safe, effective, and subtle enhancements – while building long-term, trusting relationships – is what makes this work so fulfilling for me.
Could you tell us about your experience in different medical settings (e.g., hospital, private practice, research)?
My clinical experience spans both hospital and private practice, providing me with a strong and varied foundation in patient care. I have spent the majority of my career working in hospital settings, where I am currently training within Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, managing a wide range of cases and developing refined surgical skills. Alongside this, I have worked in private dental practice, delivering dental implants and aesthetic treatments, which has strengthened my attention to detail and commitment to achieving natural, balanced results. This combination of surgical training and aesthetic experience enables me to approach each patient with a comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy and a focus on safety, precision, and personalised care.
Have you pursued any additional certifications or specialized training beyond your medical degree?
I am currently completing my specialist training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery across Kent, Surrey, and Sussex, which continues to deepen my surgical skills and understanding of complex facial anatomy. Alongside this, I am enrolled on the Level 7 aesthetics training and undertaking an MS degree in Aesthetic Surgery to further enhance my skills in advanced injectable techniques and knowledge of evidence-based aesthetic practice. I am committed to ongoing professional development and regularly update my skills through accredited workshops and training programmes to ensure I offer patients the highest standard of safe, evidence-based, and natural-looking results.
Can you describe your specific area of expertise within this specialty?
My skills within aesthetic medicine focuses on anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers, and polynucleotides. I have developed a detailed understanding of facial anatomy through my surgical training, which allows me to deliver precise, natural-looking results tailored to each patient’s features. I particularly enjoy combining these treatments to address both structural support and skin quality, creating balanced, refreshed outcomes while maintaining a subtle and harmonious aesthetic. My approach is centred on safety, evidence-based techniques, and a commitment to achieving results that enhance rather than change a patient’s natural appearance.
How do you stay updated with the latest advancements and research in your specialty?
I stay up to date with the latest advancements and research in aesthetic medicine through a combination of formal education and ongoing professional development. As part of my postgraduate degree in Aesthetic Surgery, I engage with current evidence, emerging techniques, and academic research, which helps ensure my practice remains scientifically informed. I also regularly attend accredited courses and training in new treatments and emergency management protocols, as staying current in these areas is essential for maintaining high standards of safety and care in aesthetic practice.
