What inspired you to pursue a career in plastic surgery?

What truly inspired me to go into plastic surgery was the creative freedom it offers. There’s an artistic side to it that I really enjoy. It allows you to design and innovate, and I’ve always found that incredibly fulfilling. It’s a field where research, technical skill, and creativity come together and that blend is what drew me in.

Can you tell us about your medical background and training?

I completed my training in Paris, France. I started in general surgery and explored a range of specialties including orthopedic, vascular, ENT, and maxillofacial surgery. While I appreciated each field, plastic surgery stood out to me the most. From there, I pursued plastics and completed all of my specialized training. I began my private practice in Paris around 1998 or 1999. Over the years, I’ve worked in Belgium, Moscow, and the UK. I spent about five to six years with Harley Street Skin Clinic in London. Travel challenges caused by COVID and Brexit interrupted that part of my career, but I’m now back in London.

Have you worked in different types of medical settings?

Apart from my hospital experience during training, I’ve always worked in private practice. But I’m also deeply involved in innovation. For example, I developed a medical device that enabled the FRENCHLIP procedure one of the most popular treatments at Harley Street Skin Clinic when I was there. Right now, I’m working on another device that enhances the delivery of hyaluronic acid injections, and potentially even fat grafting. Innovation has become a significant part of my professional life.

How long have you been practicing medicine?

I’ve been practicing medicine for about 25 to 27 years. I officially qualified in 1997 and began my private practice around 1998 or 1999. So, yes it’s been quite a journey.

Have you pursued any additional certifications or specialized training?

Yes, I completed specialized training in microsurgery, and I’m officially certified in that field. It’s one of the more technical areas of my education, and it has been valuable in my surgical work.

Are you a member of any professional medical organizations?

I’m a member of SOFCEP the French Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and also part of the French Scientific Society. I was previously a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and plan to renew that membership. I’m not currently part of BAPRAS (British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons), but I do intend to join.

What is your current medical specialty, and why did you choose it?

My work mainly focuses on two subspecialties: facial rejuvenation and breast surgery. In facial rejuvenation, I perform a lot of eye surgeries, facelifts, and FRENCHLIP procedures many of which I’ve enhanced through my own innovations. In breast surgery, I do everything from augmentation to reduction and mastopexy (breast lifts). These areas allow me to blend artistry with surgical precision, which is exactly what I’m passionate about.

What are the most common procedures you currently perform?

The procedures I perform most often include facelifts and FRENCHLIP suspension lifts, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), breast augmentation, and breast uplifts with implants. These are consistently in demand and represent the core of my aesthetic surgical work.

How do you stay updated with the latest advancements in your field?

I stay current by regularly reading medical journals and attending professional conferences. The last major event I attended was the World Anti-Aging Congress in Monaco, where I met colleagues like Dr. Khan and Lesley. I also rely heavily on digital platforms, especially IMCAS, which provides a wealth of updated educational videos and lectures on the latest techniques. It’s a great way to keep evolving as a practitioner.

"Plastic surgery is where science meets artistry. For me, it's not just about enhancing appearance it's about restoring confidence, embracing innovation, and continuously evolving to offer the best for each individual patient."
