Penile Frenuloplasty
What does it do?
Frenuloplasty is a straightforward procedure, which will lengthen the frenulum breve or short frenulum, and prevent tearing, allow more movement and ultimately bring less pain for patients. It is fast, safe, and performed under local anaesthetic with minimal recovery time. Unlike circumcision, frenuloplasty focuses on correcting the frenulum without removing the entire foreskin.
The frenulum is a small elastic band of tissue beneath the head of the penis, . It attaches the foreskin to the underside of the glans penis and allows it to move properly. Some men have a short penile frenulum, so the foreskin may feel tight, particularly during sexual intercourse. This can be painful and cause discomfort, and sometimes small tears and bleeding too.
Several benefits include:
- Decrease in pain or discomfort
- Foreskin being able to move easily
- Less Chance of tear or bleeding.
- A quick and simple recovery
- Boosts in confidence
