Treatment
Medical evaluation for vaginoplasty includes a physical exam, hormone therapy assessment (if applicable), and a mental health evaluation. Patients undergo imaging and lab tests such as blood tests, urinalysis, and sometimes pelvic imaging. Preoperative hair removal through electrolysis or laser treatment is often required in the surgical area. Additionally, patients may need to stop smoking and avoid certain medications before surgery to reduce risks. Some surgeons also require bowel preparation to ensure a clear surgical field.
