With over half a million procedures undertaken, you're in safe hands
ReCell is a cosmetic technique designed to significantly reduce visible scar tissue, burns and hypopigmentation (a loss of melanin in the skin causing discolouration). By sampling the patient’s own skin cells, ReCell technology is able to accelerate healing and encourage natural, healthy regrowth in the areas most in need of regeneration. Goodbye unsightly scarring - hello gloriously smooth, even skin!
The remarkable difference a Harley Street Skin Clinic treatment can provide
ReCell provides invaluable relief to those suffering with prominent acne scarring, lesions left from surgery; burn injury, or trauma; and excess pigment, making sure to leave the treated area much more even in both texture and colour...
Severe scarring can leave many feeling extremely self-conscious, and often, a little hopeless. With countless 'miracle' lotions and potions all claiming to work wonders on reducing their visibility, more often than not, these 'fixes' prove to be just another disappointment with less than remarkable results.
...And solution indeed. ReCell is the first approach to skin resurfacing administered as a spray. Before breaking down a sample of skin cells with a carefully formulated solution of enzymes, it is then reapplied directly to the treatment area in an liquid mist-like spray. It seems skin grafts could soon become a thing of the past.

The answer to some of the most common questions you may have
It's only natural to have questions if you are considering pursuing a treatment for the first time, and at Harley Street Skin, it's important to us that you feel confident and comfortable at every stage of your journey. To help you find the answers you need, here are a few of the more common quibbles that we find our clients frequently ask...
ReCell is essentially a process of encouraging new skin growth. It works by using a specially formulated solution which targets the wounded skin, and reacts, causing the cells to multiply.
First, doctors harvest sample cells from near the identified scarred tissue to ensure a perfect colour and texture match for the skin. These sample cells are then combined with a combination of enzymes and hormones (such as keratinocytes, melanocytes and fibroblasts) and the solution is redistributed - in spray form - across the treatment area. This helps to generate healthy skin regrowth in these areas specifically.
ReCell reintroduces pigment to the skin by drawing from a sample taken in biopsy. In a sense, you can think of ReCell as the Photoshop blur tool of skin treatments. It helps to conceal and erase imperfections by sourcing from a healthier part of your tissue, to restore it to its former glory.
Treatment with ReCell will drastically reduce aggressive looking scarring of any kind, better the effects of vitiligo by replenishing colour to skin lacking pigmentation and markedly improve general skin texture and tone.
ReCell is a one-off treatment, providing permanent improvement to tissue traumatised by scarring, vitiligo, burn injury and discolouration.
ReCell treatment will take about a week to heal over entirely. Scabbing will then form as the new skin begins to grow and can then take a few months for discolouration to fade out entirely to a healthy-looking flesh tone.
The procedure itself should take no more than 1 hour to complete, although patients may choose to opt for premedication to make the procedure more comfortable. This can take the procedure run time to around 2 hours in total.
ReCell is extremely safe, due to the fact it makes us of predominantly natural resources: your own cells. This means that patients do not experience any significant side effects.
Afterward treatment, skin will typically appear a little red or irritated, and once the bandages have been removed, you will only be left with minor scabbing as your skin continues to heal. On occasion, some more sensitive patients may also experience some slight stinging along with this.
ReCell works with the body to heal itself, not against, and therefore many patients find that the initial recovery process is very straightforward. The scar tissue will however take a few months to wholly blend with the surrounding skin in terms of colour, so the lasting results of treatment will not visible immediately.
After ReCell, both the scar tissue that was treated and the biopsy site will need to remain covered with a dressing for around 3-5 days, and once removed, will remain slightly scabbed for up to 14 days while fresh skin begins to form.
Over the course of the following few months, treated skin will begin to fade out from red to pink, eventually settling at a perfectly natural flesh-tone against the surrounding skin.
Having received ReCell treatment, you are free to return to work the following day. As long as your bandages remain in place to allow for the initial stages of healing, there is no reason why you should not return to normal duties straightaway.
Do be mindful that compromising the scabbing that is forming to protect the treated area under the bandages can affect how you heal, so to be on the safe side, we would recommend that you try to avoid any kind of friction or chafing.
