With over half a million procedures undertaken, you're in safe hands
Celluma is a powerful form of LED light therapy used to calm and soothe skin suffering from a whole host of complaints. You can think of Celluma therapy as a variation of the exceedingly popular treatment known as PDT, however unique in its engineering and design.
Celluma technology has been specially formatted for better, more even complexion coverage, forming a dome around the face and neck which controls and moderates LED contact with the skin. We wouldn't expect anything less of NASA-backed research, really, would we?
The remarkable difference a Harley Street Skin Clinic treatment can provide
Ever noticed how much better your skin appears on holiday? This is because sunlight is remarkably healing, and therefore often recommended by doctors for the treatment of skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
Celluma is designed to recreate this natural photo-biochemical reaction - essentially the process that the skin undergoes when exposed to the sun. Celluma, however, is fully FDA-approved and delivers high-intensity light without emitting damaging UV rays. Because of this, Celluma allows patients to access all of the healing benefits of sunlight, with none of the damage!
Celluma is an award-winning light therapy which is thoroughly non-toxic and non-invasive - on top of being a very cost-effective alternative to harsh medicines and topicals. Celluma is, in fact, remarkably safe and restorative, absorbing light to help rid the skin of a multitude of skin complaints.
As well as addressing a myriad of skin concerns, Celluma also works at a musculoskeletal level and is therefore a very popular method of pain management. That's right, sufferers of everything from arthritis to sport's injury can feel the undeniable benefit of Celluma's powerful technology.
In addition to overhauling the complexion, and alleviating joint or muscle pain, Celluma is also a fantastic anti-ageing tool. As a matter of fact, a whopping 80% of those polled by Celluma following a clinical trial claimed to see visible improvements after just 4 weeks of treatment!

The answer to some of the most common questions you may have
It's only natural to have questions if you are considering pursuing a treatment for the first time, and at Harley Street Skin, it's important to us that you feel confident and comfortable at every stage of your journey. To help you find the answers you need, here are a few of the more common quibbles that we find our clients frequently ask...
Celluma works in a similar way to how plants absorb sunlight, converting it to a resource used for generating plant tissue. Because of this, it is known scientifically as 'phototherapy'.
Using a combination of blue, red, and near-infrared light, Celluma's light-emitting diodes - more commonly known as 'LED's' - trigger a natural response which stimulates skin renewal. Our cells gladly absorb these concentrated light particles and use them as energy to boost cell function. This sees a vastly accelerated production of vital proteins and enzymes that, in turn, have a big effect on skin quality. As a result, Celluma helps not only boost circulation and subsequently firm the skin, but also eradicate any pimple-producing bacteria.
Celluma is fantastically anti-inflammatory (which is why it is so successful as a method of pain management). Because of this, Celluma is something of a wonder-treatment, and it would really be quicker to detail what it doesn't do.
Patients can see drastic improvements to pimples, skin texture, skin firmness and even skin tone. Even more severe conditions such as acne vulgaris and arthritis, poor circulation, and pigmentation can be vastly improved. If you are looking for a boost in radiance or skin clarity, look no further than Celluma.
Patients typically undergo a course of 4-6 sessions of Celluma. This is typically more than enough to improve the appearance of visible pimples, pigmentation and fine lines. However, for best results moving forward, Celluma should be maintained - particularly for those who are susceptible to acne.
As acne is considered multifactorial, Celluma may offer incredible improvements, but sadly it cannot promise permanent ones. As always, your best fight against acne is a robust, ongoing treatment plan decided upon by a skincare professional.
Celluma treatment typically consists of 3-6 30 minute sessions, conducted over the course of a few weeks. This treatment plan will depend entirely on you, and what skin complaint you are addressing with Celluma.
Celluma may also be used on an ongoing basis to help fend off signs of visible ageing such as the formations of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as age spots and pigmentation.
There are no known side effects of Celluma, and it is typically considered safe for all skin types (subject to a medical assessment).
It should, however, be noted that Celluma is best avoided by those who are pregnant and/or breastfeeding, as well as those with a history of epilepsy or over a known tumour/metastasis.
There is no formal recovery period associated with Celluma. In order to reap the best benefits, however, you will need to let the skin complete a renewal cycle and therefore optimum results will be seen after weeks 3-4.
Immediately. Celluma is about as invasive as a sunbed treatment, and therefore will not prevent you from returning to work whatsoever.
