To help you find the answers you need, here are a few of the more common quibbles that we find our clients frequently ask...
A Non-Surgical Neck Lift requires no large incisions, no pricy hospital bills, and no general anaesthesia. Instead of cutting away excess skin and stitching it into a more lifted position - as is the way with more traditional, surgical methods - Ellevate™ Neck Lifts make use of special threads called 'sutures'. These are placed underneath the skin and used as hoists for the overlying skin.
Using a special LED device, sutures are thread under the skin and placed strategically around the suspension ligaments of the neck and jaw. This special, light-guided technology allows your surgeon to gently guide the sutures into place, whilst causing minimal damage to the surrounding tissue. The skin is then drawn upward, creating a smoother, more taut neck and jawline.
Non-Surgical Neck Lifts make us of braided polyester sutures which are suspended off the mastoid ligament behind each ear. Because of this, following an Ellevate™ Neck Lift you can expect to see a dramatic boost to both lift and definition of the entire décolleté area. These lifts also make light work of improving the appearance of double chins and lax skin around the jaw and chin, as well helping to tauten fine lines and bands around the neck.
Ellevate™ Neck Lifts involve the use of permanent Ethibond sutures: some of the most robust threads available on the market. Because of this, Neck Lifts will hold their fabulous new position for an incredible 5-7 years!
In the case of most patients, Ellevate™ Neck Lifts can take less than one hour to perform. Certain, more complex lifts may take a little longer to complete - however this is relatively rare.
The Ellevate™ technique is performed using only local anaesthetic, which makes it far less traumatic for the body. This means that there are, generally, very few side effects bar some minor swelling and bruising. Because of this, most people feel more than comfortable slowly returning to normal activities within less than a week of treatment.
Typically, we would recommend that you allocate between 2-5 days of 'downtime' after a Non-Surgical Neck Lift. Some patients feel able to ease back into normal duties before this point, as long as the transition is gradual. There may still be some residual bruising/swelling at this point, but this can often be disguised with a touch of mineral makeup.
Most patients are able to return to work a few days after treatment. Residual swelling can last for up to 14 days, however, so we do recommend avoiding anything too strenuous during this time. If your role is particularly physical, you may wish to discuss plans for returning to work with your practitioner during your consultation.
