Skin Growth
Is cherry angioma treatment necessary?
Cherry angiomas, also known as Campbell de Morgan spots or senile angioma, are benign skin growths of small blood vessels to form red or purple spots on the skin. They are common skin growths, especially in individuals older than 30 years of age, and can develop anywhere on the body, including the torso, arms, or face. Though they are harmless, some people choose to have them removed for cosmetic reasons or if the growth is irritated or bleeds.
The question is, does that need to be removed? Not really, unless the angioma is uncomfortable, or in a prominent area that’s bothering you. If the cherry angioma is large, in a visible location, or becoming painful, it can be removed. At Harley Street Skin Clinic, our doctors will assess your skin and propose the best option for you.
